A majority of American schools are scheduled to reopen this fall. However, numerous teachers along with students are reluctant to attend schools. They are against the reopening of schools amidst the pandemic. The exclusive Fishbowl poll confirms a staggering 50% of teachers and students are against the reopening of schools. They are highly unlikely to go back to school in their classrooms planning to commence this fall. You could expect a stunning number of resignations on the principal’s desk provided the authorities do not reconsider the school reopening aspect.

The user survey of the app has found a large number of teachers opposed to attending schools in different states this fall. Despite most teachers reported working more than they used to before the pandemic struck, almost two-third have thought about not being able to do their jobs properly. They have been struggling to work in an education system marred by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the other hand, there has been a separate poll where parents with their child in the smaller grades would like to continue with at-home learning options. They do not prefer sending their kids to the schools this fall. However, nearly one-third of the parents are most likely to send their children amidst the pandemic, if the schools reopen. However, the number of parents likely to send their children to schools is less as compared to the number of parents not interested in sending their wards to schools in the time of the pandemic.

According to the poll, the astounding number of teachers and children not willing to attend schools would not be due to their unwillingness to attend schools, but because of the safety issues. The safety of the children would be the utmost priority of the teachers. Therefore, until a vaccine is invented for the virus, rest assured most people would not let their children attend schools out of fear of safety from the deadly pandemic.

They like the authorities to be more specific with their strategies for reopening of schools. The teachers belong to the schools and they would relish teaching the children in their classrooms. However, they are willing to teach children only when it is safe for the community. They do not want the children should fight for their lives amidst the pandemic.
