    Speech and language therapy which is more commonly referred to as speech therapy is a kind of therapy that help patients of all ages to deal with communication, speaking, swallowing eating and drinking-related problems. It is basically a type of health care issue that is valid for both children and adults. There are multiple disorders that can be treated with Speech and Language Therapy Singapore. 

    The speech and language therapist will evaluate and diagnose your problems and based on that, they will offer you a treatment plan. A speech and language therapist is a health professional who is especially skilled in speech and language therapy. He is a certified professional who has received undergraduate and graduate degrees in speech and language pathology. They are also licensed by the state in which they practice.

    Resonance and voice disorders: This may cause different types of issues including problems in volume, quality and speech. You may sometimes find your child speaking in either too loud or too soft a voice. The quality of voice may also sound to be something beyond normal. In such cases, you may get speech and language therapy.

    Fluency disorders: Fluency disorders like stuttering this is also very common disorder in children. As a result of this problem, your child may get scared to speak in public. He or she may also start to suffer from mental pressure.

    Expressive disorder: This kind of these orders occur in children who find it difficult to express themselves using facial expressions on using language. This can mainly occur due to the muscles of the face.

    Receptive disorder: This kind of disorder makes processing and understanding language really difficult. Your child may not understand what exactly he is being spoken to. He might also find the difficult to process a piece of information given to him.

    In the case of adults, speech therapy may be required to improve communication and swallowing problems. It can also be used to treat other neurological conditions using Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, brain and throat cancer, etc.
