Is it possible to learn two languages at the same time? Today more and more people are asking this question. The answer is simple – you can teach, and for this you do not have to be a philologist or translator. But here’s how to do it – a completely different question. In this article we will consider the details regarding the simultaneous study of two languages.

Why do you need to learn another foreign language?

Everyone knows that without English, now you can’t get far both literally and figuratively. But, on the other hand, it turns out that you won’t surprise anyone with knowledge of English. Do we need a second language, and what will it give us? A lot of things!

    1. Travel

Surely you have your own favorite country, which you always wanted to visit. Knowing the local language, you can not only see the sights and listen, frankly, sometimes boring tour, but also feel the flavor of the country: communicate with local residents, get acquainted with their customs. Impressions from such a trip will be tens of times more.

Perhaps someone will say that English is enough for travel. But can a temperamental Italian in all colors explain to you how much he loves his country, in restrained English? Here, English will become the same barrier between you and the “local” as your native language.

    1. Work

You will be able to get a well-paid job both in your country and abroad. It’s no secret that the majority of prestigious companies work at the international level, which means that they appreciate employees who speak foreign languages. So why not become one of those employees? A person who knows several languages will undoubtedly be the right employee.

You are probably a successful businessman or are going to become one. You work in the domestic market and would like to cooperate with foreign partners. For example, today economic relations with China are very well developed. Of course, nobody canceled the help of a professional translator. But not all translators know the specifics of your work. Who, if not you, can best explain your goals and make a profitable offer? Agree that a businessman who has shown respect and prepared to work with Chinese colleagues is much more credible.

    1. Education

Who did not dream to study abroad? And now you have a unique chance to get the best education in the world – you are going to Sweden, Germany and Japan. You think that for the first time, English is enough, and other languages will eventually learn by themselves. But everything happens in a completely different way. Yes, there is enough English for studying at the university. But you cannot “get involved” in the company of your fellow students, make friends with them, because they communicate with each other in their native language especially when they use special phrases and terms. So the cultural shock came – you feel lost, lonely and useless to anyone. In fact, all this is easy to avoid if you study their native language in advance.

These are just a few of the most common reasons to learn more than one language. Do not forget that personal motivation plays a very important role. In the end, the desire to learn simply because you like great incentives as well.
